Buddhism is a ‘legitimate’ religion of mine. Let nobody teach you
otherwise.

If you feel, being a person of Indian origin, that you should be
following
an India based Religion rather than a Semitic one, then that Religion is
Buddhism; a religion acceptable to me and by me and worthy of comparison with
other religions e.g. Christianity for one.
